Just testing my Flickr/Blogger connection. This is similiar to the showcase cab I want to build.

This is a test post from , a fancy photo sharing thing.

A big thanks to RetroBlast for the heads up on the Happs Perfect 360 sale. At $24.49, that more then makes up for the exorbitant ($11.26) shipping charges. The order is shipping today. I plan on making a cardboard template in August to do some play testing.

So it's been almost a year and a lot has happened - not with my cab, just me in general. I moved from CA to Omaha, NE and I moved from a 2 bedroom apartment to a 4 bedroom house (can you say "cost of living"?).

Well with all that space, it's gotten me back into planning my cab. Hadn't really thought about it much for the past 6 months, but I've done enough for the past few weeks to make up for it.

Right now my biggest decision is determining if I want to build a regular upright or jump right into a showcase piece. At this point in time I'm thinking showcase. It would allow me to build a pretty decent control panel without worrying about the monitor angle and depth while playing Golden Tee. Plus it would give me a little more leeway in building a rotating CP.

Ordered my first set of parts last night. I don't plan on actually starting construction of my cab for at least another 6 months, but at least I can work on the control panel now.

I ordered 3 different types of joysticks so I could compare them and order more of the ones I liked. I'll also use this testing to determine if I need dual 4 ways to play Karate Champ or if 8 ways are fine.


Parts List

Finished my first draft of my control panel today. I know it's a draft because I know I'm going to have issues with the positioning of the 4-way joysticks diagonal to the trackball. It would interfere with my GoldenTee Golf :-) Not sure what I'm going to do about it yet, but I have to have my dual 4-ways to play Karate Champ :-) Dilemmas,dilemmas....
